It could mean reducing the frequency of illness to enjoy work and provide more for family, achieving weight loss for renewed confidence, or simply waking each morning refreshed after a proper night’s sleep.

I understand first-hand how profoundly ill health can impact quality of life. In my early 20s, I suffered from debilitating hormonal migraines that would occur as often as every fortnight, often lasting 2–3 days at a time. During these episodes, I was unable to work or attend university classes and was confined to bed until the migraine passed.

As migraines run in my family—affecting my grandmother, mother, and aunty—I believed I was destined to live with them for the rest of my life. Conventional treatments offered me little relief, and in some cases, medications worsened my symptoms or caused unpleasant side effects.

Through my studies and application of naturopathic medicine, I was able to identify underlying triggers and adopt strategies that transformed how I manage my migraines. Today, their impact on my life is minimal, and I no longer feel limited by them.

This experience not only shaped my personal health journey but also fuels my passion as a naturopath: to help others find the answers and solutions that allow them to regain control of their health and live fully once again.
